The Moon; Today, Tomorrow and Everyday

One of the things that I am truly going to miss about being in Australia is the unusual view we have of the moon. Today it’s a crescent moon, but instead of your typical ‘C’ shaped crescent our moon looks more like a ‘U’ shape. It is quite something else to look up in the sky and see a deep blue night sky with a black moon silhouetted against the blue with a faint crescent on the bottom. It’s utterly breath taking to be able to see the new moon and the crescent moon simultaneously. I’m told that no-where else in the world has skies quite the same blue as we have here in Australia. On nights like tonight, I believe it.
