The Perfect Metaphor: The Locked Window

Take yourself away from everything that you are thinking about at the moment and imagine yourself in front of a window.

This window is locked, but you can see through it and on the other side of the window is what you have been looking for or working for.

There is a ring of keys at your feet, a dozen or so of them. You pick them up and start trying each one in the lock on the window.

None of the keys work, no matter how hard you try to push them into the lock, no matter how many times you turn them over and over.

You try walking around the window. It doesn’t work, your vision through the window remains the same no matter which side of it you are on.

The only solution is to unlock the window.
